Cardiff Metropolitan University was formerly University of Wales Institute, Cardiff (UWIC).

The latest Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) report (2014) confirms that the University meets UK expectations in all areas of academic standards and quality assurance. In addition, several features of good practice which make a particularly positive contribution to the University’s approach to academic standards and quality of provision, were identified.
Cardiff Metropolitan University has been ranked as the top UK university for overall student satisfaction in the International Student Barometer in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. According to the National Student Survey 2013, 85% of Cardiff Metropolitan University students agree or strongly agree that overall, they are satisfied with the quality of their course.
The Destination of Leavers in Higher Education (DLHE) 2012 revealed that 95% of Cardiff Metropolitan University graduates secure employment or enter further study within six months of graduation.
